OpenAI is rolling out a redesigned Conversions page in ChatGPT Ads Manager, weekly account summary emails and a longer list of measurement partners. Search Engine Land reported the changes on October 16, 2026. None of them change how a click reaches your site, but they do change where you will first notice a tracking problem. This guide covers what shipped, what the new page can and cannot tell you, and five checks to run before you quote the new numbers to anyone.

Status checked: October 18, 2026. Ads Manager is still labelled beta, and OpenAI ships changes through product emails as often as through blog posts, so your account may show these features a few days earlier or later than described.

What OpenAI is rolling out

According to Search Engine Land, the October update has four parts:

ChangeWhat it doesWhy it matters for tracking
Redesigned Conversions pageOne overview of conversion activity, event trends, optimization status and diagnostic warnings. Warnings link straight to the Diagnostics tab.Broken pixel events and dropped CAPI calls surface on the page you already look at, instead of a side panel.
Weekly account summariesAdvertisers with active campaigns receive a weekly email comparing performance with the previous week.A sudden week-over-week conversion drop is often a tracking break, not a performance change.
More measurement partnersNorthbeam, DV Rockerbox and INCRMNTAL join the integrations, alongside mobile partners Kochava, Tenjin and Airbridge. Each partner needs the OpenAI click identifier passed correctly, or its ChatGPT column stays empty.
In-product feedbackBugs and suggestions can be sent from the Ads Manager account menu.Useful when Ads Manager and your analytics disagree and you suspect the platform.

The partner names overlap with the list OpenAI published on October 5. The difference is that these integrations are now described as live in Ads Manager rather than announced.

How this builds on the October 5 update

On October 5, 2026, OpenAI published its first full measurement roadmap for ChatGPT Ads (OpenAI). The pieces that matter for anyone running tracking:

  • Pixel and Conversions API (CAPI) remain the two ways to send conversions. OpenAI's reporting deduplicates them using the pixel ID, event name and event ID (PPC Land).
  • Attribution windows are configurable. You pick a click-through window and can add a one-day view-through window. OpenAI says these settings change reporting only, not how campaigns optimize (The Keyword).
  • Event Quality Score (EQS) rates the pixel and CAPI signals that feed optimization and shows where data is weak.
  • Partners by role: Hightouch, Tealium and LiveRamp move conversion data from your systems to OpenAI. AppsFlyer, Triple Whale, Adjust, DV Rockerbox, Northbeam, Branch, Singular, Kochava, Airbridge and Tenjin handle attribution across web and app. Fospha, Measured and INCRMNTAL cover full-funnel measurement. Haus, Measured and WorkMagic are exploring geo-based incrementality tests.
  • Visual ads will be tested inside image generation for US users on the Free and Go plans later in October, with an initial group of advertisers.

OpenAI also shared early figures: in its own analysis, 52.7% of eligible one-day view-through conversions happened within an hour of the matched impression. Partner case studies cited a 15.3% lower attributed CPA for WeightWatchers (DV Rockerbox) and 93% new visitors for Portland Leather (Triple Whale). Treat these as vendor-reported examples, not benchmarks. PPC Land notes that none of them disclose spend, dates or conversion counts.

What the Conversions page can and cannot tell you

The new page is built on the pixel and CAPI. That gives it strengths and a blind spot.

The Conversions page can showIt cannot show
Whether events are arriving, and which ones are being dropped and whyWhether your UTM parameters survived the landing page redirect
Which campaigns are optimizing for a conversion goalWhat GA4 recorded as the session source for the same click
Click-through and one-day view-through conversions by your chosen windowConversions that happened without a cookie or click identifier match
Trend changes week over weekWhether a drop is a pixel problem or a landing page problem

In other words, a clean Conversions page means OpenAI can see your conversions. It says nothing about whether your analytics, CRM or finance reports can. Those depend on the UTMs and the click identifier reaching your pages intact, which is the subject of our ChatGPT Ads UTM guide.

Five checks before you trust the new numbers

  1. Clear every warning on the Conversions page. Open each one and follow it to the Diagnostics tab. Dropped events usually point to a missing field, a bad event name or a CAPI call without an event ID. Fix the source, then wait for the event count to recover before comparing weeks.
  2. Confirm deduplication. If you send both pixel and CAPI, the event ID must be identical on both. A quick test is to fire one test purchase and check that the page counts one event, not two.
  3. Write down your attribution window. Note the click-through window and whether view-through is on. Put both in the footnote of every report that quotes ChatGPT Ads conversions. A 30-day click plus one-day view window will never match GA4's click-only key events.
  4. Click your own ad. Use a live ad, not the preview. Check that the landing URL still carries your utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign values and OpenAI's click identifier after every redirect. Then confirm the session in GA4 DebugView. Our UTM testing guide shows the steps.
  5. Check each partner column separately. If you use Northbeam, Rockerbox, a mobile measurement partner or another integration, confirm it shows ChatGPT clicks from the last 48 hours. An empty column usually means the click identifier is not being passed or the integration was connected but never authorised.

How to read the weekly summary

The weekly email compares this week with last week. That is useful, but a one-week comparison hides as much as it shows. Before reacting to a change:

  • Check the event count first, then the conversion rate. If events fell and spend did not, suspect tracking before suspecting the ads.
  • Compare against GA4 sessions with utm_source set to your ChatGPT Ads value. If sessions held steady while Ads Manager conversions fell, the pixel or CAPI side broke. If both fell, the clicks fell.
  • Remember the mid-October ChatGPT tag bug. Organic ChatGPT links lost their utm_source=chatgpt.com tag between October 8 and 15. Paid clicks carry your own tags and were not reported as affected, but if your source naming overlaps, the weeks around that date will look odd. See what the bug did to GA4 data.
  • Annotate the rollout. Add a GA4 annotation and a note in your dashboard for the week the new Conversions page appeared in your account, so later readers know why the diagnostics history starts there.

What this means for GA4 reporting

Nothing in this update feeds GA4. GA4 still classifies a ChatGPT ad click by the UTM parameters on the landing URL, and it still has no native ChatGPT Ads integration. Three things follow:

  • Keep a distinct paid source. Do not reuse chatgpt.com, which GA4 maps to the organic AI Assistant channel. Use a separate value such as chatgpt_ads with a paid medium, so paid and organic AI traffic never merge. The AI assistant traffic guide explains the channel rules.
  • Expect the two systems to disagree. Ads Manager counts view-through conversions and uses your chosen window. GA4 counts sessions and key events on a click-only, last-non-direct basis. Report both, label both, and do not try to reconcile them to the unit.
  • Capture the source at conversion time. Store the landing-page UTMs in hidden form fields or the order record, as described in capturing UTMs in forms. When a weekly summary and GA4 disagree, the CRM record is the tie-breaker.

Quick answers

Is the new Conversions page live for everyone?

OpenAI described it as rolling out, and Search Engine Land reported it on October 16, 2026. Check Tools, then Conversions in Ads Manager. If you still see the older layout, the rollout has not reached your account yet.

Does the weekly summary replace my own reporting?

No. It compares one week with the previous week using Ads Manager's attribution settings. Keep your GA4 and CRM reporting as the independent check.

Which measurement partners does ChatGPT Ads support?

OpenAI's October lists name Hightouch, Tealium and LiveRamp for conversion data; AppsFlyer, Triple Whale, Adjust, DV Rockerbox, Northbeam, Branch, Singular, Kochava, Airbridge and Tenjin for attribution; Fospha, Measured and INCRMNTAL for full-funnel measurement; and Haus, Measured and WorkMagic for geo tests. Check OpenAI's help center for the current list before relying on one.

Do I still need UTM parameters on ChatGPT ads?

Yes. The pixel and CAPI feed OpenAI's reporting and optimization. UTMs are the only thing GA4, your CRM and most BI tools can use to recognise the click.
